His Light Shines Award...

I received this award last week from Brenda. This award is an honor to receive since this is my goal in life... LETTING HIS LIGHT SHINE THROUGH ME! I even have a banner message on my cell phone that says "Reflect the Son" to remind me how I need to conduct myself in everything I do. Receiving this award tells me I must be doing something right... ;)

The way it works: let your readers know where you received the award, then pass it on to your favorite "lovely" bloggers. Have fun!

Now add this text:

“These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.”

What color of the rainbow are you???

I saw this on Tori and Mari's blog and this is what I came up with for me:

Your rainbow is intensely shaded indigo, red, and blue.

What is says about you: You are a passionate person. You appreciate friends who get along with one another. You share hobbies with friends and like trying to fit into their routines. Friends count on you for being honest and insightful.

Find the colors of your rainbow at spacefem.com.

There once was a girl from the dales,
Who spent her day shopping sales.
When to gleaners she went,
no money she spent.
For the food was all recalled by the bale.

Sunrise Painting

This was taken on Monday morning...
just look at God's beautiful brush strokes!

2 Samuel 23:4 "He is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings the grass from the earth."

Habakkuk 3:4 "His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden."

301st Post Giveaway!!!

Since officially my 300th post was used for Logan's birthday, this is actually my 301st post - DARE TO BE DIFFERENT!

The item I'm giving away is a one of a kind copy of my book of poems. My good friends Tara and Erin (sisters) are very crafty and wanted to put my poetry in a book for me. They ended up making 16 copies! Each book is unique and beautiful! They turned out absolutely amazing and I am so blessed to have friends that wanted to do this for me!

I am going to change things up a bit seeing as I can do that because it's my blog! =) It will be my birthday on Saturday - Valentine's Day - and I would like each comment/entry to write a "Roses Are Red" type of poem. The winner will be picked on Friday by a random number generator so no judging will be involved.

If you would like to write more than one poem to increase your chances of winning, feel free to write as many as you like.

Please write appropriately... I will not publish anything I feel should not be printed.

Can't wait to see what you write!

Happy Birthday Logan!!!

Happy Birthday Logan! I can't believe it's been 17 years ago already that you came into my life! You are truly a blessing to me in so many ways! I thank God for the gift He gave me on that special Sunday at 8:14 in the morning! I'm sure you've heard many times about how confused I was that day when I tried to find out your weight... 8 pounds, 14 ounces at 8:14 AM. I've caught a lot of "teasing" to put it mildly about how I could not understand why no one would tell me how much you weighed since I already knew what time you were born!!!! ;) I remember how special I knew you were then already when you were breaking all the statistics... born on your due date... born with a broken arm... breach (feet down), born c-section... and of course born at 8:14 AM weighing in at 8 pds. 14 oz. I knew then that you were one of a kind! :)

You've certainly grown into a wonderful young man over the years and have such a great love for life! I see how much you keep growing physically, emotionally, and spiritually more and more every year! You are loved more than you'll ever know... until you have kids of your own!

Enjoy your day!

Love, MOM

31 Days of Prayer for My Husband

Mari had this on her blog and I think it's a great idea so I wanted to post it here as well. Hope you don't mind Mari! :)

February is the month that we seem to hear a lot about love. Of course, Valentines day does focus on love, but I think one the best things we can do for those we love is to pray for them.

Sandra, from Diary of a SAHM is challenging us to specifically pray for our husbands this month. Here is what she says about this:

"You know that I feel that behind every wonderful blogging woman I have come to know, there is an amazing man, they are the ones working in the background. The ones providing for our families, fixing what is broken around the house, giving us a hug when we're down, listening to our bad days, putting up with the constant flashing of cameras in their eyes (admit it, you tote that camera around just as much as I do LOL).

So, I think they need to be recognized and admired and acknowledged for the wonderful husbands they are and what better way to do that, than to specifically pray for them for a month. Will you join me?"

Don't you think this is a great idea? If you want to do this you can do it on your own, or you are welcome to go to Sandra's blog where she will be posting about it and giving prayer suggestions daily.

Update on Krystin...

Krystin came through surgery very well and we are praising God for that!!! They removed her kidney but did NOT have to remove any of her liver! This news after surgery was very exciting and we obviously know who is Krystin's Great Physician!

The following is the last e-mail we received from my brother. God is so good all the time!!!

On Thursday Jeremy had emailed that the pathology report indicated Krystin is now officially cancer free!!

Yesterday Krystin came home from the hospital and is doing well.
Yes, we got our Krystin back!!

We give all the glory to our God
for hearing our collective petitions and, thru the doctors skills, given her
back her health. Thank you, everyone, for your prayers and thoughts,
and continued prayers.
